FDI status in Ba Ria - Vung Tau

According to the Foreign Investment Agency, as at 20/10/2015, Ba Ria - Vung Tau ranked 2/63 nationally in FDI attraction with 313 projects in effect with the total registered capital of USD 27.56 billion.

Only for the first 10 months in 2015, foreign investors invested in 10 new projects, increased the capital for 11 times, with a total newly registered and additional capital of USD 735.1 million in Ba Ria - Vung Tau (ranking 8/49 localities in FDI attraction during this period).

Foreign investors in Ba Ria - Vung Tau has invested in 4/21 branches in the national economic sector system; the processing and manufacturing industry are mainly focused on with 8 new projects, 9 capital increasing turns, total newly registered and additional capital of USD 661.1 million (90% of the total investment capital). Following are agriculture, forestry and fisheries; transport and storage; water supply and waste and sewage management and treatment.

The investment projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province are mainly in the form of 100% foreign capital with 7 new projects, 10 capital increasing turns and the total newly registered and additional capital of USD 702.58 million (accounting for 96% of the total investment capital). Other projects are in the form of joint venture.

In the first 10 months of this year, 8 countries and territories has invested in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. The investors from British Virgin Islands rank the top with 3 new projects, 3 capital increasing turns and USD 247.1 million (accounting for 34% of the total investment capital). Following are Australia, Japan and other countries.

The largest FDI project in Ba Ria - Vung Tau in 2015 as at the reporting moment is the Ba Ria -Vung Tau Nitori Co. Ltd licensed on 15/10/2015 of Nitori Holdings Co. Ltd., Japan. The total investment capital is USD 150 million. The project is specialized in wooden furniture, interior and exterior furniture and decoration.
